Christie initially attended the University of New Orleans as a Theatre & Film major. If you ask her, she will tell you she wanted to be Julia Roberts when she grew up.
It wasn’t until 2014 that she realized her passion for Theatre production translated into the production of weddings & events. With that Mise En Place Events was born!
In the last 12 years Christie has cultivated her career in the event industry, making a name for her team as one of the top planning companies in the New Orleans area - offering planning & management services for events throughout the entire Gulf Coast Region, & beyond!

Through a now dissolved Covid Partnership - MEPE was rebranded in 2020 as Southern Approach Events, as a way to offer Event Rentals & Full Event Design & Production Services, in addition to Planning & Coordination.
From Fall 2025 - Fall 2026, Christie took a year long break from planning to focus on her family & the busyness of life raising 3 teens! Now, as 2 of her 3 children have graduated back-to-back from high school, Christie returns to her roots & where her event planning journey began - Mise En Place Events has been revived!

When she’s not creating beautiful events - Christie loves to spend time with her husband Aaron & their three kids – Tristan, Leah, & Noah. She is a self-proclaimed crazy dog lady & has two rescue dogs – Donnie & Juno (the most spoiled mutts EVER!) & She’s Learning to be a crazy cat-lady with her new kitten, “Starvin” Marvin. You can usually find her drinking too much coffee, Listening to Taylor Swift on repeat, & watching reruns of Friends or Grey’s Anatomy, while plotting out her next home renovation project!!
